after Istambul

it was great, with the old girls + Pali which caused endless quips in the eating places etc, when we happened to go without him, we had "where is the Guru" shouted after us. So, the city is so beautiful, but so huge and there are 12 million people! I wasn't aware it was so many... the hotel was as lux as I ever been in, best of all having a Turkish bath and a small pool open till 10pm every night, plus it was 5 minutes walk from Sultanahmet Square, so we could walk out and look at the magically lit Blue Mosque, tha Aya Sophia, the fountains in between and the people enjoying the cooler evening after the rather hot days. And the food was so good... and drinking wine and chat before bed on the roof terrace. And the breakfasts... and the boat trip on the Bosporus... coffee at the middle of Galata bridge... the bizantian cistern... etc etc Coming back was a shock of the Hungarian and EU tortured refugees. We found a group and volunteers on the way to Budapest, and could ask at last what we could help. They said to bring warm clothes there. There were a few cold and wet days, seemed like the cold season is setting in. Well, Alan collected tons - mostly from the German residents of the village, very good stuff - but not well timed - the Pécs refugees and their helpers disappeared from the station. So we hav a ton of stuff - we'll probably have it jumbled saled in the village if the mayor supports the idea. The good news is the election of Jeremy Corbyn as labour leader - nice to see the establishment panicking like headless chickens, just like evil Orban and evil Merker. the whole dark tower of capitalism seem to be shaking again... shaking - haven't been well in the last 5 days, a tummy upset wouldn't settle, will see the doc tomorrow. I can't eat all these raspberries, figs, purple and other paprikas, aubergines, still grapes and ocra this last hot week produced. Magdi did out of this world cleaning of our house while we were away - she dusted all the books, casettes and CDs! And shined the kettle we use on the gas! And loads of other stuff I've never even considered doing... fotos are made by the mobile - just to give an idea - proper ones will follow from the girls who are quite pro.
