It’s an ex-pig

Hope not to upset conscientious vegetarian readers…so I’m not putting on
any of the fairly gory pictures our hostel-guests made of the pig-killing.
Yes, we’ve got what we always wanted – paying wwoofers! Our lovely
guests Frances and Alex visiting all the way from New Zealand helped
through that long day of pig-processing and are keen on – well, Frances is – milking goats…
anyways, it went well and without much pain (on the part of the pig) as Feri came to help and he did it very professionally with his stun gun. I made sure that I was in the shop when this part of the work happened… then I was teaching, so by the time I joined to help, the pig-bits were very much like what one sees at a butcher’s…
The meal of fresh fried meat and newly made sausages, with bread and pickles was very enjoyable in the afternoon… even though we did least of the work with Alan,
with Jozsi, Margit and Feri doing most, we ended up totally knackered, sleeping through most of Sunday, and still not quite recovered… And we have half a freezer full with meat! Roll on the winter… ok, I don’t really mean that.
I just remember, last Sunday we tried out the new table tennis table in the play-house, which was bought from a grant Szabi won, and we had a jolly good hour and a quarter playing, supposed to have repeated it on this Sunday, but as I mentioned we were not composmentis…

so what is this?

mystery object competition... if you guess right,
hm - what should be the prize?

Guest goat and mangalica

Grain prices are very expensive due to the draught , just bought
some barley today. Autumn is on us with cold nights, nice days.
Goats played silly buggers this morning – managed to find a hole on the fence and decided to play catch in next door’s garden. Only guest goat behaved, having suspicion against all fences now that got acquainted with the electric variety.
Mangalica got a reprieve, we were told better to wait with the chop. See how it’s looking at you… and I put on an autumny pic with the compost and for the next lot,
As I cannot post more than 3 pics in one, a mystery object, you can guess what it is.
Send it on if you think somebody else would know…

just that it's still cold and I had my big toe to the doctors

But not of toe.

the white columns

just to show how nice and tidy they are... Alan did them all, Molly helped with
the "gletting".
Quiet lovely clear sunny and not too hot days, nothing to report unless you really wanna know about my ingrown toenail dammit...
