Happy May Day everyone! And it sparkles and fresh and warm after last evenings' serious hailstorm... luckily things (touch wood) more resilient than expected, lettuces, cherry, pea-plants, grapes, raspberry (already showing budding fruit) seem all unhurt - maybe even good, as the bad ones must have fallen down.
We are off to the majális - the May Day village bogrács cooking competition from the free meat allocated by the council. I contribute the csipetke to our team, which is like nokkedly, but smaller and a little bit harder, and I'm making it from ürömi dried ones that Rita brought last September as part of an enormous box of produce. (They own a pasta factory that now seem to supply all major supermarkets, but going broke as said evil supermarkets are not paying their suppliers, often not at all). Anyway, these special egg-pasta need 45 minutes cooking, and I caught up with this fact rather late, never mind, by the time we get there Erzsi's PINCEPÖrkÖlt will be nicely bubbling away... there will be table-tennis and 3 pin balling competition as well so I might go in my trainers. Have a lovely day! Will attempt to make photos, but rarely turns out anything interesting at these group gatherings. Unfortunately the turn-out tend to be poorer and poorer every year - the population prefers fatten their backsides in front of their tellies getting stupider and stupider; election results Kiskassa that used to have a majority for the socialists now conforms to the national trend - Fidesz (Fascistoids) 45% JObbik (Fascists) 28% MSzP (liberalcapitalists but not fascists and keep democratic pretences) 22%.
sod the world, lets have a good time.
