Ancient Messene very new Dorka

the new one was born on the 22nd and is beautiful. Jutka's 4th, Juci's 1st. I can't remember when I blogged last, but we had still very good times with not many wet days in between, and they were needed for rest from walks and eatings. Vic and Maggie arrived for a weekend, we managed a local cafe+sunshine morning and Logga meal on the Saturday, and Nestor's palace (closed) a few lucky found Mycenaean tombs, a very nice meal in a Pylos beach restaurant - large fish and meat poykilia, we had to take some of it home - then a Closed methoni castle, a dropped chocolate cake in Koroni's Doydoyn, an altogether lovely and long day. Monday there were roadblocksto outmaneuver to get their flight home from Athens, as farmers got fed up losing 60 percent of their income through taxes, such as 27% paid for this year and another 27% in advance of next year... same as other folk, pensions were cut 12 times in 2 years, altogether a 60% cut. Hope this is not a trial run for the rest of the EU, where cuts are going on, too, for decades now. Anyways, yesterday Rosemarie was lovely again and took us to ancient Messene, the biggest surprise of Greece - stupendous, I say no more, I try to put on as many pictures as I can, but was done with the proper camera, not the mobile, so it will take time. This might be the last blog from A.A. we are off to Athens on the 8th February, and fly to Manchester on the 10th. Spot the little willy on one of the statues in the Messene archiological museum...
